LIMU researcher Maria Karzova became a laureate of the Moscow Government Prize for young scientists!
On 4th of February 2025, on the eve of Russian Science Day, the Moscow Government Prizes for young scientists were awarded in the White Hall of the Moscow City Hall. LIMU researcher Maria Karzova became one of five laureates of the prize in the «Physics and Astronomy» nomination.
LIMU member Anastasia Kvashennikova successfully defended her PhD thesis!
On December 23rd, 2024, a LIMU fellow Anastasia Kvashennikova successfully defended her PhD dissertation “Numerical modeling of difference-frequency wave generation in three-dimensional ultrasound beams at strong manifestation of the nonlinearity of the medium”. The work was carried out under the scientific supervision of Ph.D. Petr V. Yuldashev and D.Sc. Vera A. Khokhlova. Congratulations to Anastasia and her supervisors!

A top-rated journal Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (Q1, IF 2.9) published our paper «Boiling histotripsy in ex vivo human brain: proof-of-concept» that contains the first results on elastic properties and resistance to histotripsy of human brain tissues.

The results of our study on the mechanical dose of renal tissue ablation have been published in the Q1 journal Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology
A top-rated journal Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (Q1, IF 2.9) has published our paper entitled «Advancing boiling histotripsy dose in ex vivo and in vivo renal tissues via quantitative histological analysis and shear wave elastography» – the results of our quantitative analysis of the stiffness of various kidney compartments and the dose required to fractionate them using boiling histotripsy method.

A top-rated journal The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (Q1, IF 2.1) has published our article "Fully nonlinear three-dimensional modeling of parametric interactions in the field of a dual-frequency acoustic array" based on the results of our joint research with Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas.
LIMU at the 23rd International Symposium on Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU-2024)
From September 19 to 22, 2024, the annual International Symposium on Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU-2024) was held in Taipei, Taiwan. LIMU co-head V.A. Khokhlova was a member of the program committee of the symposium, and our fellows Alisa Krokhmal and Ekaterina Ponomarchuk presented two oral and one poster talks.
