LIMU participation in the International Congress on Ultrasonics (ICU 2019)
In September 2019 LIMU team participated in the International Congress on Ultrasonics. The conference was held in Vives Campus (Bruges, Belgium). LIMU members presented 6 talks.
Leonid Gavrilov received a Pioneer Award from ISTU/EUFUS 2019
Leonid Gavrilov received a prestigious Pioneer award for research in the field of therapeutic ultrasound. The award ceremony took place on June 13, 2019 in the historic building of the University of Barcelona (Spain) at the joint ISTU/EUFUS symposium.

Kseniya Topchu received an award for the best project among the 2nd year students of the Physics Faculty of MSU
In June 2019, Kseniya Topchu received the Third Degree Award presenting her project “Changes of morphological characteristics of blood cells during preparation of hematoma models for acoustic experiment" at the contest for the 2-nd year students of the Physics Faculty of Moscow State University. The project was conducted under supervision of Vera Khokhlova and Sergey Buravkov. Сongratulations!
LIMU participation in School-Seminar «Waves-2019»
In May 2019 LIMU team participated in the XVII All-Russian School-seminar «Physics and application of microwaves» named after Professor Anatoliy Sukhorukov («Waves-2019»).

According to the results of 2018, the LIMU project of 2014 – 2018 “Physical principles and development of high intensity focused ultrasound medical transducers for shock wave treatments in inhomogeneous biological tissues” was recognized as one of the best projects supported by the Russian Science Foundation. Congratulations to the team on the successful implementation of the project!

At the end of March 2019, our colleagues from the University of Washington in Seattle visited LIMU. George Schade, Professor of the Department of Urology and Tatiana Khokhlova, Professor of the University Medical School, gave lectures on the present and future of non-invasive surgery using high-intensity focused ultrasound.

In the fall of 2018, PhD student Dmitry Nikolaev took part in research on the use of acoustic means to monitor the environmental situation in the aquatic environment, conducted by scientists from universities of Indonesia and China.
