LIMU at the International Symposium on Therapeutic Ultrasound ISTU-2025

From June 21 to 24, 2025, the annual symposium of the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU-2025) was held at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (Canada), and LIMU research fellows traditionally participated in the Symposium.

The Symposium program brought together over 200 researchers, physicians, engineers and manufacturers of medical equipment, engaging them in discussions and debates on the latest achievements in the field of therapeutic ultrasound for various clinical applications in neurosurgery, women’s health, abdominal surgery, immunotherapy, etc.

LIMU co-director Vera A. Khokhlova participated as a moderator of the “Physics and Modeling” section, and as an invited speaker with her talk on “The use of freely available numerical tools for acoustic characterization of HIFU fields and treatment planning”.

Our research fellow Ekaterina Ponomarchuk gave an oral talk on the results of a recently published work on the motion mitigation strategies in transcutaneous ultrasound surgery with boiling histotripsy.
