A top-rated journal Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (Q1, IF 2.9) published our paper titled «Pilot study on boiling histotripsy treatment of human leiomyoma ex vivo» on the results of our joint research with Medical Center of Moscow State University.
On June 25–26, 2024, our research fellows Alisa Krokhmal, Ekaterina Ponomarchuk, and PhD student Daria Chupova visited the V.S. Buzaev Memorial International Medical Center (Ufa, Russia), first in Russia to perform non-invasive treatment of movement disorders through transcranial focused ultrasound (FUS) ablation of specific areas in human brain.
On June 18, 2024, postgraduate students of the Department of Acoustics of the MSU Physics Faculty, including LIMU postgraduates Asfandiyarov Shamil and Kvashennikova Anastasia, successfully passed the defense of their graduation theses. Based on the results of the committee voting, both works were assessed as excellent. Congratulations to our postgraduates and wish them further scientific achievements!
On June 3, 2024, students of the Department of Acoustics of the MSU Physics Faculty successfully passed the defense of their Master's theses, including LIMU students Fedor Nartov and Oleg Solontsov. Fedor's thesis was unanimously selected by the committee for participation in the R.V. Khokhlov student work competition.
From May 26 to 31, 2024, the XXXV All-Russian school-seminar "Wave phenomena: physics and applications" named after Professor A.P. Sukhorukov ("Waves 2024") was held. Students, postgraduates and research fellows of the LIMU laboratory presented 12 talks in three sections: "Acoustics of inhomogeneous media", "Bio- and medical applications of wave physics" and "Mathematical problems of wave physics", and Sergey Tsysar gave a lecture at the plenary session. This lecture, as well as 4 talks of our students and postgraduates, were awarded diplomas for the best reports and lectures.
