Ph.D. student of LIMU Pavel Rosnitskiy has successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on December 12, 2019. The thesis was prepared under supervision of Dr. Vera Khokhlova. Congratulations to Dr. Rosnitskiy!

In summer and autumn, LIMU students were awarded a number of awards. Anna Kunturova, Lyubov Kotelnikova, Polina Pestova, Ekaterina Ponomarchuk, Anastasia Bobina, Shamil Asfandiyarov, and Anatoly Podyman received increased scholarships. Lyubov Kotelnikova and Polina Pestova were awarded the stipends named after famous scientists, A.N. Tikhonov and M.V. Lomonosov. In addition, Anna Kontorova and Polina Pestova received Student internships from the Focused Ultrasound Foundation.

Kseniya Topchu received an award for the best project among the 2nd year students of the Physics Faculty of MSU
In June 2019, Kseniya Topchu received the Third Degree Award presenting her project “Changes of morphological characteristics of blood cells during preparation of hematoma models for acoustic experiment" at the contest for the 2-nd year students of the Physics Faculty of Moscow State University. According to the results of 2018, the LIMU project of 2014 – 2018 “Physical principles and development of high intensity focused ultrasound medical transducers for shock wave treatments in inhomogeneous biological tissues” was recognized as one of the best projects supported by the Russian Science Foundation. At the end of March 2019, our colleagues from the University of Washington in Seattle visited LIMU. George Schade, Professor of the Department of Urology and Tatiana Khokhlova, Professor of the University Medical School, gave lectures on the present and future of non-invasive surgery using high-intensity focused ultrasound.
