LIMU participated in Russian School-Seminar «Waves-2017»

In June 2017 LIMU team participated in the XVI All-Russian School-seminar «Physics and application of microwaves» named after Professor Anatoliy Sukhorukov («Waves-2017»), which was held in the vacation resort of MSU "Krasnovidovo". Sergey Tsysar was an active organizator of the School.

Sergey Tsysar gave an oral presentation on characterization of ultrasound transducers and hydrophones. Timofey Krit gave a talk on measuring shear modulus of viscoelastic medium under static shear stress using interferometry. Despite the exams at the University, three LIMU students gave poster presentations. Anastasia Bobina presented on ultrasound beam focusing in heterogeneous biological tissue related to the non-invasive surgery applications, Ekaterina Ponomarchuk presented results of histological analysis of liver samples after exposure to high intensity focused ultrasound pulses, and Maria Begicheva gave a report on modeling of acoustic resonator with inhomogeneities of shear modulus using finite element method.

All the presentations attracted an active interest of the audience and fruitful discussions. More detailed information about the School is provided here http://waves.phys.msu.ru.
