3rd joint meeting of the Acoustical Society of America and the European Acoustics Association

LIMU team has participated in the 3rd joint meeting of the Acoustical Society of America and the European Acoustics Association, which was held in Boston, USA, June 25-29, 2017. Vera Khokhlova gave talk about two reduced-order approaches for characterizing the acoustic output of high-power medical ultrasound transducers. Oleg Sapozhnikov gave two presentations on use of wide-element one-dimensional receiving arrays to measure 2D lateral pressure distribution of ultrasound beams and on acoustic nonlinearity to explain atomization in drop-chain acoustic fountains. Petr Yuldashev presented an invited talk on made an invited presentation on effects of soft tissue inhomogeneities on nonlinear propagation and shock formation in high intensity focused ultrasound beams. He also gave talk on numerical simulation of transcranial ultrasound imaging using a 2D phased array. Timofey Krit reperted about in vivo measurements of muscle elasticity applying shear waves excited with focused ultrasound. Sergey Tsysar gave two talks on experimental implementation of a synthesized twodimensional phased array for transcranial imaging with aberration correction as well as on acoustic holography combined with radiation force measurements to characterize broadband ultrasound transducers and calibrate hydrophone sensitivity. Invited talk of Maria Karzova was devoted to the use of optical methods for measuring irregular reflection of weak acoustic shock pulses from a solid surface in air. Altogether, 13 talks were presented in co-authorship of LIMU scientists.
