LIMU team has participated in the 5th Joint Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America and Acoustical Society of Japan, Honolulu, Hawaii, 28 November - 2 December 2016. Oleg Sapozhnikov gave two presentations on nonlinear effects at the focus of a hemispherical acoustic source and on the kidney stone pushing and trapping using focused ultrasound beams. Vera Khokhlova gave an invited talk on recent advances in boiling histotripsy and also presented on characterization of high-amplitude fields of an annular HIFU array. Timofey Krit gave a talk on nonlinear standing shear waves in gel-like media, and Maria Karzova presented on modeling shock-wave fields generated by a diagnostic-type transducer. Altogether, 15 papers were presented with co-authorship of LIMU scientists.
