In August 2016 LIMU Heads Vera Khokhlova and Oleg Sapozhnikov presented lectures at the 5th International Symposium on Focused Ultrasound (FUSF16). The Symposium was organized by the Focused Ultrasound Foundation in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. Oleg Sapozhnikov showed results on using focused beams of special structure for pushing and trapping kidney stones with acoustic radiation force, Vera Khokhlova gave two talks on using of shock-wave exposures for accelerating thermal ablation of confined tissue volumes and on transcutaneous boiling histotripsy ablation of the kidney in an in vivo porcine model (see videos of these presentations).
