LIMU at the International Youth Science Forum "Lomonosov-2025"

From April 11 to 25, 2025, International Scientific Conference for Students, Postgraduates, and Young Scientists "Lomonosov-2025" was held at Moscow State University. The "Physics" section was started on April 15 at the Physics Faculty of MSU, opening with a lecture by LIMU researcher and 2025 Moscow Government Prize laureate for young scientists, Maria Karzova. Her lecture focused on nonlinear acoustic waves with shock fronts in aeroacoustics and medical applications. She demonstrated new methods for studying the temporal structure of acoustic pulses with shock fronts and the possibilities of modeling shock-wave fields generated by modern medical ultrasound transducers.

The same day featured sessions of the "Acoustics" and "Medical Physics" subsections, where second- and third-year LIMU undergraduates presented their works:

Anastasia Bashmashnikova gave a talk on results of LIMU's pilot experiments on mechanical fractionation of human liver metastases ex vivo using boiling histotripsy. The study demonstrated the method's potential feasibility for non-invasive liver tumor treatment and its possible further optimization for metastases of varied origin. Anastasia’s report was recognized as the best in her subsection!

Andrey Samatov shared the results of his findings in the field of acoustic holography under variable temperature conditions. His work showed that the proposed speed-of-sound compensation method successfully corrects acoustic holograms in environments with fluctuating temperatures.

Congratulations to our researchers and good luck in their further scientific work!
