On April 4, 2024, school students of grades 8–11 from the private school “Letovo” came in for a LIMU lab tour. LIMU undergraduates, PhD students and staff prepared experimental demonstrations and educated prospective university students on the capabilities of ultrasound and its evolving applications in industry and medicine.

Schoolchildren learned more about ultrasonic waves and the features of their generation, propagation and detection in different media, observed the acoustic fountain phenomenon, figured out the operation principle of an ultrasonic atomizer, held human skull phantoms in their hands, and observed the state-of-the-art equipment for generation of powerful ultrasound for industrial and medical applications.
