LIMU participation in the International Symposium on Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU/EUFUS 2019)

From 13th to 15th of June the first joint meeting of the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU) and the European Focused Ultrasound Charitable Society (EUFUS) was held in the historic building of the Universitat de Barcelona. The LIMU team participated actively in the symposium. Vera Khokhlova, together with her colleague from Oxford Robin Cleveland, organized the scientific program. LIMU delegates to the symposium were researchers Sergey Tsysar, Petr Yuldashev, Maria Karzova, and Vera Khokhlova as well as the PhD student Pavel Rosnitskiy and MS student Ekaterina Ponomarchuk. Altogether, 13 abstracts were presented co-authored with LIMU staff. At the opening ceremony of the Symposium, the most experienced LIMU member, Leonid Gavrilov, received “Pioneer award” for his early fundamental research in medical ultrasound. Participants of the symposium paid a special tribute to Leonid and accompanied the awarding ceremony by standing ovations.
