From June 21 to 24, 2025, LIMU traditionally attended the annual symposium of the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU-2025) held in Banff, Canada.
Our paper titled “Respiratory motion effects and mitigation strategies on boiling histotripsy in porcine liver and kidney” has been published in a highly rated journal IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectric, and Frequency Control (Q1, IF 3.0).
From June 9 to 11, 2025, a thesis competition was held for students of the course “Neural Networks and Their Application in Scientific Research”. LIMU PhD student Fedor Nartov, who presented his work in the “Biology, Chemistry, Medicine” section, was among the winners.
On June 10th, 2025, at the Physics Faculty, MSU, a LIMU alumni Shamil Asfandiyarov successfully defended his PhD dissertation “The use of 2D phased arrays for ultrasonic imaging and physical impact on objects in heterogeneous medium”. The work was carried out under the supervision of Oleg A. Sapozhnikov, D.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics. Congratulations to Shamil and his supervisor!
From June 1 to 6, 2025, the XXXVI All-Russian school-seminar "Waves 2025" was held. Students, postgraduates and research fellows of the LIMU laboratory presented 5 talks in two sections: "Acoustics of inhomogeneous media" and "Bio- and medical applications of wave physics". LIMU postgraduate student Lyubov Kotelnikova was awarded a diploma for the best presentation at the conference.
Alexey’s coursework titled "Fields of multi-element ultrasonic transducers for particle manipulation" supervised by LIMU fellow Sergey A. Tsysar has successfully passed all three steps of the competition and won in the final mini-conference for students presenting their works in front of the jury members.
